He ran into his editor's office. Blood dripped from his face and arms. “Chief, I got the story of the century, no, the story of all time.”

“What happened to you? You're bleeding everywhere.”

“I had a run in with a window. Literally.”

“Go get cleaned up, or go to the hospital, whatever you have to do. I just put in new carpets.”

“This won't wait, Chief.”

“It will have to.”

“Okay. But in the meantime, look at the pictures in this camera.” He tossed the camera to his editor and left.

When he got back from the hospital, he sported a few band aids and gauze bandages, but was all smiles. “See those pictures, Chief? I will explain them to you, and your socks will fall right off.”

The Editor sighed. “All right, Brian. What's the skinny?”

The reporter told the whole story to his editor, leaving nothing out.

“That it, Brian?”

“That's it, Chief. Amazing stuff, huh?”

“You're fired, Brian. Clean out your office and never come back.”

"What? What are you talking about? Did you see the pictures?”

The Editor tossed the set of photos he had printed across his desk. They landed in Brian's lap. “Maybe you can get a job taking real estate pictures.”

The reporter looked at the photos. They all showed an empty room.

No elephant.

No lion.

No gorilla.

Just an empty room.

“I know what happened. I can explain. You see, the blue light must of transported the animals to the Collector's planet an instant before I shot the picture.”

The Editor stood up. “Get out of here, before I shoot you.”
